The Eastman Group, Inc.

Richard Eastman is founder and President of The Eastman Group Inc. TEG builds travel software solutions currently implemented by GDS/CRSs, airlines, tour operators, travel agencies, and corporations throughout the world. In addition, TEG is currently a lead consultant in the redesign of the U.S. Department of Transportation Data Modernization platform used by the government to capture airline origin, destination and fare data.

TEG’s primary product is AutoLink™, originally conceived and developed Richard Eastman in 1993. Even today, AutoLink remains on the “leading edge” of applied microcomputer technologies and software solutions that enable cross-platform connectivity between travel vendor legacy systems and contemporary client-server TCP/IP architectures. AutoLink™ solutions included Internet airline and GDS booking-engines, interactive voice booking, agency traveler-compliance solutions, airline yield and revenue management tools, multi-GDS interactive online auditing, and proprietary cross-platform gateways. Richard and the TEG team use their cross platform travel technology experiences and knowledge to consult, provide advice, or develop solutions not necessarily related to the company’s AutoLink™ platform..

Prior to focusing on travel distribution software solutions, Richard Eastman was Chief Marketing Officer for AirLanka, Ltd., the national carrier of Sri Lanka (now, SriLankan Airlines). He served as Chief Information Office for Associated Travel Inc. (now a part of Carlson Wagonlit) and working with Associated, created and built the first travel industry’s automated quality control program, AQUA (Automated Quality User Assurance). In addition, Richard has also held executive management roles in two commuter airlines, a tour company, headed a group of travel agencies, and worked a number of years in advertising and public relations.

He obtained his BA from California State Polytechnic University in 1962 and his MBA from Pepperdine University in 1979, with an Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management awarded by Pepperdine in 1998. Richard is a licensed commercial pilot, flight instructor, and FAAST Representative.
